My 11-year-old daughter Kennedy is one of the coolest people I know. Seriously. Which is such a blessing, since we are pretty much together 24/7. However, she is not a fan of having her picture taken, so I was surprised when she (finally) agreed to take some pictures with me.
I mean, it did take some convincing, I ain’t even gon lie.
She’s got a unique fashion sense, so I let her style this shoot.
Every time one of us wears one of these shirts, someone always stops and asks where we got them! They definitely have that 90’s aesthetic, which is pretty much Kennedy’s vibe all of the time.
When I was little, my mom always let me pick out my own outfits, and I’ve done the same with Kennedy. Even in Kindergarten, when her outfits usually consisted of a skirt, patterned tights and rain boots, I let her choose, and I think that freedom has shaped her style today. I know some moms who pride themselves on having the best dressed child in the class, and that’s cool.
But that ain’t me.
