How to make your life more interesting.
Does your lifestyle need a major upgrade? How can you make your life better? You may be surprised by how making a few changes can help you live luxuriously without spending a ton of money.
Not only do these items serve an aesthetic purpose, but they also make your life feel extra special. You can start living a better, happier life today.
Of course, being a kind human being goes way farther than any product in this post.
Nothing will bring you happiness if you are a bad person- also, you can only change things within your control. You can read more about that here.

In this article, you’ll find ways to make your home feel more luxurious, as well as how to live lavishly and look expensive.
1. Eat well to live well- but do it at home.
Learn to cook restaurant-quality meals.
You can get a great cut of meat that’s actually pretty affordable at your local butcher shop. Usually, they have a “buy more, save more” type of deal going on, so we do that. What we don’t eat, we put in the freezer, which works perfectly.
The same concept goes for Costco steaks, and they are GOOD.
Wake up to the smell of freshly brewed coffee.
I’ve never been one to go through the Starbucks drive-thru every morning, but I have friends that spend at least 60 bucks a month on coffee. And that’s low-balling it. They probably spend much, much more.
This espresso machine cost less than that, and also makes cappuccinos and lattes and home. It has 6016 positive reviews and claims that it’s super simple to use.
Make fancy snacks to entertain with.
Two words: charcuterie board. Bonus points if you put it on this organic bamboo cheese board.
And let me tell you something else: I just bought this caviar off of Amazon and it’s actually pretty good. I mean, I wouldn’t really know. But it’ll make you and your friends feel fancy, I can tell you that.
2. Make Your Life Aesthetic with Fresh Sheets and Towels.
Crisp as a 100 dollar bill.
Great sleep equals a great life. Period.
There is NOTHING and I mean nothing, like fresh, crisp, high-quality sheets. I like to wash them on a Friday so that I can be super-snuggly when I sleep in on the weekend.
The West Elm Tencel Sheets are all over social media right now, not only because they feel like butter, but also because they are sustainably sourced.
These sheets are a great investment because they’ll last a lifetime.
This luxurious detergent is worth every penny.
Let me let you in on a little secret that is a one-way ticket to luxuriousness: Diva Laundry Soap.
It is strong in the best way and smells like what I imagine a billionaire would smell like. My whole bedroom is scented after washing my sheets with this. I can’t even explain how good this stuff is.
I will say, it is a splurge, so I only use it on sheets and towels every once and awhile.
Just do yourself a favor and get it.
All white everything.
Speaking of towels, those need to be so fresh and so clean clean, also. Change out your hand towels often.
I personally use white sheets and towels, not only for the lavish vibe but also because I can bleach them.
3. Make your home smell like a lavish hotel.
You don’t have to live in a million-dollar mansion for your home to have a signature scent.
These products will make your home smell expensive:
I LOVE this diffuser. I wish I would have purchased this sooner because I use it every single day. It puts out a ton of steam, so it’s enough to scent the entire upstairs portion of our home.
Santal is my ALL TIME FAVORITE scent to use in my diffuser. I am super picky about which scents I like, but Santal makes the cut. Everyone always comments on how good my house smells.
If you’re curious about the rich and famous people who wear this scent, read here.
Burn candles for a rich vibe.
This candle smells just like a high-end salon.
4. Quality over quantity = living your best life.
Get rid of junk to make life easier.
This is something I’ve became better at since I’ve hit my 30’s, but I tell you what: getting rid of stuff you no longer use feels good.
It feels even better if you donate it and help someone less fortunate than you.
Minimal purchases that are more expensive are far better than several cheap purchases.
For instance, the poor man who buys cheap boots will have to buy new ones more frequently than the man who invests in expensive, high-quality boots. In the long run, the poor man will probably spend more money.
I read that somewhere, but I’m not sure where. Oh well, it makes sense.
Don’t make repeat expensive purchases.
Justify your purchases by not making them repeat purchases. Purchase quality items that will stand the test of time. That’s the gist of what I’m trying to say.
5. Cleanliness is next to godliness- and luxuriousness.
Keep a clean house. (For the most part)
I know it’s easier said than done, but when each thing is put in its place, it is oh so satisfying.
I scrub out my bathrooms and tidy up the house on Friday, (as well as change my bed, as I mentioned above) that way, I can bask in the lap of luxury all weekend long.
Keep a clean car.
I don’t care if you drive a 1987 pinto, you’d better keep that bitch clean. It doesn’t take that much time to take care of your things.
Also, here’s a car diffuser you can use with that same Santal hotel scent as above.
You’re welcome.
Keep clean teeth.
If you have insurance, there’s really no excuse to not have your teeth every 6 months. You will feel so good afterward.
6. Bring outdoors in to make your home seem fancier.
Get some greenery for the scenery.
House plants will make your home look so expensive.
Did you know that you can actually order live plants from this company online? They have a great selection, and each plant comes with an adorable little pot.
If you ever watch home renovation shows on HGTV like I do, then you know they always gotta throw a house plant in there before they do the final reveal.
They do this because it makes the room look more attractive.
If you have the option, go for natural lighting.
Speaking of HGTV, have you noticed how they always redesign the home to have more natural light beaming into every room? This is something to consider if you are apartment or house hunting.
There is nothing quite as exquisite as rays of sunshine hitting you while you lounge on the couch while reading your favorite book.
Fresh. Flowers.
I think all rich people probably keep fresh flowers in their house. I would keep them around all the time if I knew my bengals wouldn’t eat them.
7. Keep yourself looking (and feeling) like a million bucks.
This means something different for everyone, but the bottom line is this: Do whatever you need to do to look and feel your best.
Learn how to pamper yourself at home.
I love doing facials at home. This is the facial steamer I have, and I love it. It works with UV light to kill bacteria and it feels so luxurious to breathe in the steam.
Save where you can, so you can splurge when you want.
My mama cuts my hair most of the time. I color my own hair every time.
I pay a plastic surgeon for Botox injections.
Now, I’m not saying everyone needs to go this route; I’m just letting you know where I spend and save.
All I’m saying is this:
If you do your own nails each week instead of going to the salon, go ahead and treat yourself to that Hydrafacial on your birthday.
Give and take, ya know?
